At this point I don't see any reason to maintain this thread as well as the other AotM thread. Perhaps this one should indeed be locked.

It's all something to keep the Yankees confused, and you were the first

I can't speak for the Army, as I am but a lowly division commander, however I believe the intent is to make a fresh start following Roger's sudden retirement from the club. I (among many) miss being in near daily contact with Roger and his enthusiasm for the club, however the Army of the Mississippi must move forward. We are doing so, and I hope that the Yankee Army decides to pick on us while we are in transition

Am I seeing double, or are there two forums for the AotM?

Maybe its a clever way to hide the true location of the HQ?

Should this thread be locked to avoid confusion?

Gentlemen <salute>

My congratulations to Colonel Strickler and Major Haines on their promotions. Well done, gentlemen!

General McOmish, if you pump 30 drinks into Nicodemus there may be blood spilled. I suggest we post him guarding the Yankee mounts

Army of the Mississippi Promotions

The following officers have been promoted in the past week:

Captain Harry Haines, officer commanding the 5th Brigade, 1st Division, I Corps - promoted to Major

Lieutenant Colonel Blake Strickler, Army Chief of Staff - promoted to Colonel

Since Roger has left the drinks will have to be on my tab - no more than 30 per man, and no girly stuff like drinking gin!

I saw you were offering Viagra; there are some boys from the AoC that have thus far taken a fearful beating against 2nd Division in Operation "Gator Pike". They might need something to stiffen their resolve

My regards,

Officers of the Army of the Mississippi <salute>

Gentlemen, we all mourn the retiement of our Commander, General Roger Hulinsky, and anyone who wishes to bid him tidings should continue to do so. I pray that we all remember his words in the WE are that Army of the Mississippi, and our future lies in our hands.

Gator Alley continues its actions against the Yankee invaders in a number of battles, and our talley for the month of April includes 5 major victories. Who will join us?

"Say it ain't so, Joe!"

Roger,
If you read this, please know what a pleasure and an honor it was serving with you, and that the Army of Mississippi will never be the same without you and your devotion to the club, your army and your soldiers (especially us horse-soldiers).
You sir, will be sorely missed, not only as a commander but as a friend and comrade.
Good luck sir, with whatever life brings your way.

<salute>

Quoted so it doesn't find its way deep into the thread.
Thank you sir for your service to the club, and moreso the opportunity to get to know a little about yourself. I'll still cheer for ISU rather than Nebraska.

Roger,

Col. Herbert's sentiments echo my own, your sudden disappearance had a lot of your friends here worried about you. Although I'm sorry to lose you again I'm sure you have good reasons for leaving.

Best wishes my friend and please stop bye now and then to let us know you are well.

General Hulinsky <salute>

Sir, on the one hand I am thrilled to see your dispatch and know that you are well. That is the one bit of information that has most concerned me.

On the other hand, you have been a great friend and mentor almost since the day I joined the club and I will miss you dearly. You volunteered my Louisiana mule to pull an artillery caisson, allowed me the privelage of commanding a division, put together a rough shell and taught me how to edit and maintain the 2nd Division website, and most of all taught me how not to conduct cavalry operatiions You were an awesome Army Commander! Nicodemus has determined that Lt Gen Thompson's comment "aw piss" pretty well sums it up.

Roger, I wish the best for you and your family and hope that occasionally you might find the time to drop a line.

I appreciate the tip. But at this point I get more spam than anything else anyways so I am used to it. I have already inherited five fortunes, won the lottery, and been named an ambassador to some random place in Europe. I will change it though as I cannot possibly handle any more ambassadorships at present
