I wish the wagons carried arty ammo (single round per gun fits all sizes), and that infantry ammo used the universal pool (based on percentage for resupply.)

Just increase crew quality to B or A status and play with the Optional Rule that gives bonus to elite (A,B) troops in the later games.

They don't use the ammo pool, but if you have ZERO they can't fire. (if memory serves me correctly)

The Napoleonic series has the same issue. I think there should be one pdt standard. Players can import pdt files from title to title, and open thier favorite scenario files in a text editor, change the pdt file line and then SAVE IT AS SOMETHING else. So you can make your own set of 'standard' pdt s...

I believe reconstruction would have been easier under Lincoln. Boothe did the whole country, North and South a big dis-service.

I think building entrenchments "in game" would be better handled in a single battle campaign setting. So a player could elect to dig-in, and depending upon what his opponent does the map could change with trench works added.

Keep in mind that secession is a viable option within our system. The South just went about it the wrong way. Any state can leave if they can get the constitution ammended. There in lies the rub, getting everyone to vote to kick you out. Perhaps, though in the late 1850's or early 1860's if the Sout...

Kennon,

Another point about slavery, the popular modern conception is slave owning plantations with 10's to 100's of slaves, but the reality was like in my family line where different families owned one, two or three slaves.

CSA wins, I don't see Hitler's rise. 1918 doesn't see millions of Doughboys tipping the scale of WWI in the allies favor. Germany woes the CSA to side with them and Mexico or at least stay neutral. If US has belligerent or neutral neighbor to it's south (other than Mexico ... sorry Mexico), then it ...

http://www.scribd.com/explore I downloaded some 90 titles, and didn't even touch the ACW ones. I did see over 25 titles covering the ACW. I paid a $9 USD fee for a month. It's a recurring fee, but you can cancel anytime. Might be worth checking out. Type "Osprey" in the search, and check t...

General Nelms is being modest. He failed to mention he personally, along side General Sands, participated in many of the battles simulated with this series. So adding in thier 1860's time in service they've been around the longest. ;-)

General McOmish, sir,

Is it true that General Jackson will pull his Christmas special, "A Holly Jolly Valley Campaign" featuring the Gaithers if the network picks up Dolly Parton's new sitcom "Men for my Mountains"?
