I should correct a previous statement. The ACW Engineering site is technically a developer site, but it hasn't been utilized as such for some time. Any further efforts in this regard would depend upon Ken Miller's involvement at his discretion.

My post is to affirm Ashdoll's contention concerning marching speed. I have nothing to offer in terms of density, nor did I intend. The way the game system is structured, one would need to reduce unit size to whatever one felt to be the maximum size to occupy an individual road hex. Realistically, i...

Ashdoll, your observations are correct. I did a similar study some 10 years ago. There is a document posted at the ACW Engineering site. I came to a similar conclusion. The average marching speed was 1.7 - 1.8 mph. Given that averages always include extremes, the movement factors in the game align w...

I am putting the question directly to Rich Hamilton at the WDS forum (for some reason I can't currently post). Although this situation can easily be handled with a house rule, it would be better otherwise. Maybe it was rectified, but never documented. At the same time, although this might be better ...

Act offensively: Fire or Melee. Any action which might cause morale checks for the defending player. Players can define what parameters they want to establish.

First Night Turn Player 1 goes to have their turn but, before they can do anything, the game engine conducts morale checks where necessary. As it is now night, Player 1 has their morale checks conducted with '2' subtracted from the dice rolls. Player 1 is disadvantaged by this, not Player 2 . Corre...

The bug I described has been around since the HPS days at least. Whether it has been fixed, there is an intention to fix, or will never be fixed, I can't say. I have never seen any note to this effect in any updates to the Campaign series. If anyone has knowledge that this is no longer a problem, pl...

Since I was the one who suggested it, I guess I should be the one to reply. Routing is determined at the beginning of a side/player's move, not at the end of the previous turn where it logically should be. Don't know why this is, but that would need to be addressed by WDS. It has been this way for y...

I don't have a preference. It's all fun. Have played both sides in any number of different scenarios, but certainly Union primarily.

I prefer hard or paper back for reading purposes. For games, PDF is fine. Is this considered reading?

Blake,

It was a small thing, but I learned something from it as well. It was good for both of us.

Although unnecessary, thanks for the recognition.

Inquiring minds want to know: Why did Reynolds not scout forward to the river? Mistake, perhaps, but he stated that he had no intention of crossing the river. There was no indication at the time that he was confronted by two CSA corps as you can read from Union discussions. There did not appear to b...

Blake,

Congratulations on your new role leading the CSA effort, misguided cause though it may be. <salute>
