Sherman's march through Georgia and then the Carolina's begs the question of whether it could be included within the JTS Campaign series as a seriously playable game package. Exactly how, do you think, would or should a designer approach the effort? Obviously the "What-If" world might prov...

The following zipped attachment contains the five bitmap files needed to load this new set of Petersburg 2D unit graphical modifications. It is important to know that there are two sets of 2DSymbols files that come with the game. This set is meant to replace the default set, not the "a" (a...

http://www.unioneaglesonline.com/UNIONARMY/images/AotSimages/JHightowerMemoriam.gif It is my sad duty to make announcement of the March 5th death of Captain Jay Hightower, lately assigned to the ACWGC Union Army of the Shenandoah. Jay was killed in a motorcycle accident in the Ukraine. (See: http:/...

It seems as if the victory point values assigned for units successfully removed from the map through an exit hex are based upon percentages of unit strength according to the various types. The values given below were obtained during play of the JTS Petersburg Burgess Mill scenario, and may not be re...

Lt. Jay Hightower, 4/2/VIII/AotS, has not been heard from since early March of this year and his e-mails go unanswered. Hopefully we will hear from him soon, but I would ask anyone with any information concerning his present status to contact me directly.

I've always tended to think that the AI features in these games were included as training aides, as opposed to what would be considered a satisfying experience. But, of course, I am supremely jaded in my thinking as an ACWGC member! And, if I may carry my thoughts further, these games were primarily...

"We've taken the guns, sir, but I don't know what kind they are!" I notice that when a successful melee is conducted upon an artillery unit that the attacking player cannot determine what gun types have been captured. I don't know if this is universal to the Civil War Campaign series game...

ACWGC's Lt. Gen. Randy Brooks currently serves as the Chief of Staff for the Union Army of the Tennessee and has told me a number of things concerning his part-time involvement with the BGES. In his last muster report, posted in the Conference Hall of the AotT's Eagle Perch Forum, he talked some mor...

Are you saying, Steve, that AI play is a necessary asset to the sale of these games?

I always thought that this uphill/downhill thing was due to the natural proclivity of the common infantryman of the period to jerk the trigger, causing the barrel to pull upwards. How many times have we've read about line officers cautioning their men to aim low, or hearing about complete volleys pa...

With the elections coming at such a late date from where they should have been held, will the new Cabinet members become retroactively installed to the original date? I have always felt that the current, staggered election date cycles allowed the Cabinet to carry onward with a minimum of interruptio...
