Hi Scott, Great artwork, really like Mort's stuff, and the music is pretty good too. I hate to burst your bubble but the last 2nd Manassas story I heard was the whole Butternut ANV was in tears and running for the hills. :0) I whooped'em pretty good for a Union major victory in my match. No heroics ...

Berto, Good point. Things like Brice's Crossroads would be a good filler for that final Western campaign series. No major battle but several small battles making up the title. It could cover everything around the Mississippi river and westward.... ~1864 onward. What do you think about adding the uni...

Berto, Considering you are a programmer for Matrix games, do you work on the Battleground CW series at all? Do you assist or support the HPS/JTS teams? I looked into the * Red River Campaign (including other misc battles west of the Mississippi) history and there doesn't look to be enough there to m...

@D. Hampel I guess the OOB wasn't so hard in terms of units, officers & numbers, but how did you decide on moral values and weapons? Col. Hecht, The weapons and quality ratings for the units were based off of those units from prior OOB files. As these units were already listed in the Franklin, ...

Have just completed the detailed OOB for Brice's Crossroads. Used several Civil War websites to verify data and the .OOB files from other Campaign series for the leaders and units. The map will be the next project. Hoping to have the full detailed scenario finish before months end. Does anyone know ...

OK, cast has been set. These two scenarios will be made from the Atlanta Campaign series. I've started collecting the OOB and map data. There will be unique .pdt settings for the Brice's Crossroads to reflect the rains and bad road conditions. In addition the low ammo rate percent will increase to r...

Another interesting one to go with that could be: Battle of Tupelo https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Battle_of_Tupelo Date:July 14–15, 1864 Location:Near Tupelo, Mississippi Commanders and leaders United States:Andrew Smith Confederate States of America:Stephen Lee, Nathan Forrest Units involved Right W...

Great idea! Brice's Crossroads would be a good sample to work with. Under which current HPS game should it be built? Atlanta, Vicksburg, Chickamauga, or Franklin? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Battle_of_Brice%27s_Crossroads Date:June 10, 1864 Location:Near Baldwyn, Mississippi Commanders and leaders...

Steve, these can also be done with the approval of JTS. We first need to see what demand or request there are and present it to JTS. If we help JTS develop projects I would imagine that things would move a lot faster. As the JTS team is focusing on other products and can't afford the manpower to the...

Hi Steve,

Currently I have no trouble creating maps for the games (Matrix, HPS or JTS). I'm able to create or convert the maps across the platforms.

Only real stickler here is the time to create a new map. That can be an intense project; but doable.

10,000 men in a hex (roughly a division). Works great on a grand scale scenario and if the map covers the whole eastern US. Why not? I'm sure the .pdt and game engine could handle it. The firing range would be limit to 1 hex for all weapons I guess. :)

After reviewing all of the different scenarios and the current Campaign series, what would still be needed or desired? As we have the ability to create our own maps, scenarios, .oob, .pdt and graphics files what would still be needed or desired to complete the CWB series? As a pool of enthusiast I t...

Steve/Robert/John, Is the intent here just to customize our own scenarios with the .pdt file and the scenario for personal play or is the intent to fix something that isn't working correctly? As we all have the ability to modify the .pdt file and tweak the scenarios ourselves, with the scenario edit...

BG Ross McDaniel, VERY interesting. Thank you for the post. While reviewing the Rebel yell clip I was sent to another very interesting documentary of Gettysburg. This one is also worth seeing.... Officers <salute>, I think a very simple fix here is to add the ammo to each unit into the OOB file. This would make the ammo levels specific to each unit as they conduct battle. Good example of the flaws of the current design is that I captured a Rebel artillery which was out of ammo but I immediat...
