Forum: Mason Dixon Tavern   Topic: Possible Supply Solution? - Add to OOB file

Gents, I've read many post regarding the concerns or frustration relating to the supply topic and have an idea that might be a good solution. How about adding the supply level for each unit to the line of the unit in the OOB file? It's an easy edit/update and would be an easy programing read for a v...

Col. Mark Lichtenberg, I was able reach him a couple weeks ago. We had a multiple player match we had to finish without him. He currently had some obligations he had to attend to and should be listed under a temporary leave of absence. Not sure of his target return date but it will be very hard to r...

I guess the old rules are simpler but it is nice to capture the enemies guns and turn them on them (when there is still ammo). Another flaw with this setting is that nearly any unit can hold the guns for points and use. I sometimes leave my officer back to hold the guns and amazingly he can single h...

I was playing a RBC scenario when I captured some Reb guns. My opponent pointed out that he was unable to use the guns but when I captured them I was able to fire them back on the Rebs. Didn't seem right that if the guns were out of ammo that I would magically be able to fire them on their owners wh...

Frank, I'm currently in a multiplayer game using the Battle of the Ridges (200 XX_Battle of the Ridges (v.1)) scenario from the HPS Shiloh Campaign. Both sides are pretty evenly matched and the forces split pretty evenly for both players on both sides (roughly 48K per side). We are currently on turn...

Gen. Cam Sir!, <Salute> Count me in. I volunteer for a ride on the Chattanooga Choo Choo. If I have a choice, I'm open for: Third Battle of Chattanooga: HPS Chickamauga, 063 Chatt_Missionary Ridge (H) 27 Turns (OPEN) or Battle of Mine Run: JTS Overland, 003-631130-Mine Run_11 [H] Mine Run, November ...

Hi Joe! (or Grrrrr! you Rebel scoundrel) :) I did a quick test in the BG series and the JT Overland and there is really no restriction on how many men are in a unit or how many men are limited to a hex. It's purely setup in the .pdt file which can be modified to nearly any number. I tested a unit wi...

Hi Joe, (Gen. Meyer, Sir! <Salute>) I've tested this example in all of the HPS and JT-Overland versions. It doesn't exist with the Talonsoft/Matrix BS series as those maps are a painted .bmp image. With the HPS and JT campaigns the maps are generate from the map files and the conflict exist if a map...

Gents, Now that I'm able to use the map editor again and have experimented with creating some new maps, I've notice that a conflict still exist with the Map folder terrain files (2DGround50 &2DGround100) vs. the (3DGround50 and 3DGround100). The 2D files contain 28 levels of terrain. The 3D file...

Hi Kennon, you are right. The graphics from the map come from the files you mentioned (2DGround50.bmp, 2DGround100.bmp, 3DGround50.bmp and 3DGround100.bmp) in the Map folder but the same files also exist in the Map->Alt folder. This was my intention, to have the files change from standard Map folder...

Guys, just for quick clarification, I already knew that the terrain graphics are set in the scenario design heading for that scenario. I was just hoping that the weather lines in the .pdt would allow for it to change based on the weather condition which comes from the .pdt file. As the scenario edit...

Thanks guys for the quick feedback. I guess I was more hoping the setting would allow the change from standard to alternate terrain or back and forth based on the weather line in the .pdt file. Like Ken mentioned, it was probably set during the programming and was not used and left with the default ...

Gents, I've been playing around with the weather settings in the .pdt file (JT-Overland) and was wondering, what does the Flag setting do (last setting before the weather description) ? I was hoping it would change to the alternate terrain graphics during the turn from normal to alternate to give th...

Amazing work Frank. The Old Banshee Team has outdone themselves again. I really like the touch to the 3d graphics. Keep up the good work and many thanks to the whole Old Banshee Team.
