Congratulations to both officers.
The Army of the Potomac was for a long time in fine hands and I'm sure it will continue this way.

Unless a new company takes up this series, like Wargame Design Studio did for Panzer Battles and Panzer Campaign, I doubt that we'll see changes.

I would rather try to work with house rules so that these small units are not used in a gamey way.

In general I seems nice to be able to split large cavalry into smaller units to be able to do recon. But the correct size is likely what works within a scenario, in late war scenario with Confederate cavalry regiments so much depleted that they are just companies it don't seem to make sense to be ab...

I wonder if you have to patch Chickamauga first to 1.04 because it never got a 2.X HPS patch. The current 1.04 HPS patch is bigger than the JTS patch, I compared them and in the HPS patch there a 323 files while just 36 in the JTS patch. If the JTS patch is just for bringing a 2.0 version to 2.01 we...

AFAIk not, a little break can be achieve if you turn off on-map results but helps only at spots where there is fire/melee combat, and afaik it must be done by both players to work. Only real thing that could work is to record the replay and then view it with some kind of media player. You could try ...

And my two cents are that column formations take +40% fire what raises the chance of being disrupted and by that being unable to assault, besides that the column formation will prohibit any fire so you may end up in front of the enemy without being able to do any damage. Besides speed, what does onl...

What about the situations were assaults in column are inevitable.
AFAIk you can't assault over a bridge in line so you have to use columns. Question is how often did this happen at all.

Maybe John Tiller can add an armor rating for officers to depict this.

Indeed GM games can be interesting.
On a different board I onces witnessed an MP game that had a GM who did everything, the players only gave their orders and the GM implemented them. Was very interesting, especially as it used Histwar - Les Grognards.

Indeed, trust is needed, but if you don't trust your opponent why play him at all? So if you do trust him, I don't see a problem with such a system. For dice roles this may be helpful: http://www.pbegames.com/roller/ It can send the results of to a mail address, so either the players or maybe a game...

Well the last posts make seem to reveal the dire need of some kind of Command & Control system. The Napoleonic series lacks this too and Bill Peters had the idea of such a system: http://wargame.ch/board/nwc/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=11937 Bill had also the idea of limiting the reaction, what is s...
