Gentlemen. Please. The Union is well aware of the Southern strategy of throwing down your weapons at first effort and running home like the wind to hide behind your momma's hoop skirt. No need to hide from the truth. Be men and embrace it. As Ralph Waldo Emerson would say, no man can violate his own...

Lt General Phillips Sir! <salute>

To a chivalrous and honorable foe that even the Union can salute.

Congratulations.

May your battles continue to be fun and your command follow your example.

<Salute>

Semper Fi!

Of course, if I was told that a they were recruiting individuals to be the top-men on ships at a place called Peggy Mullan's Red Hot Beef Steak Club I would be a bit suspicious of the true purpose.

Still a salute to my Corps and all who serve(d) the Nation honorably.

Guys: Don't be intimidated. Guys. Be intimidated. Be very intimidated. It will take me years to figure out just how to skedaddle back to the safe confines of D.C. Cut to: A group of Union Officers at some undetermined crossroads turning a map from side to side to side 1st Union Officer: "I thi...

LTC Ferry, for all that you have done for the club I consider you a General.

For all that you have done for your nation I consider you a true American.

But most impressive of all is that I consider you a U.S. Marine.

Semper Fi!

Ahhh, common ground. And a new perspective. My problem with the infantry column melee is as General Whitehead mentioned waayyy back on page 1 of this posting, individuals never leaving column formation and just blitzing around all the time for the entire game. And I have always made exceptions when ...

This supposes Upton's column as it would have looked using assault columns as prescribed by the manual. Presumes regimental strengths of 400 men, and ten companies to a regiment. Total assault force 4,800 men. Regiment organized in column of divisions--two companies wide (a division) and five compa...

I will bring the Cubans courtesy of the U.S.N.

Gentlemen <salute>

This thread seems to me that if an individual is a Southern officer then one does not have to do anything to get promoted and winning is not important.

Am I understanding this correctly?
If so then I am glad to sign my name . . .

Officers of the C.S.A. Sirs! <salute> I am looking for one more battle on my card. Throw out your choice from either HPS Antietam, Chickamauga, or Shiloh.
