I like the idea of making it usable only in the scenario pdt. For those who want to experiment, they can make alternative versions. I don't like the idea of another optional rule since that is already pretty loaded, and I think in general those rules are more gameplay oriented (with the exception of...

Ernie, Install the 8.1 update if you haven't already. It makes it more of a desktop OS than the original tablet OS. I was using the free start button replacement Classic Shell with 8.0, but it's almost optional with 8.1. The next major update sounds like it will go even more towards the desktop inte...

I voted Windows 7, but I actually have all three on the same PC, 7 & 8 with XP in a virtual machine which is where I play the occasional BG game. Win 7 is still my OS of choice and I only occasionally boot the Win 8 drive.

I simply copied the Talonsoft BG Chickamauga folder from the CD to the hard drive, replaced the bg.exe file, and then selected BGstart and it runs. I'm sure you can do the same thing - the game doesn't need to be "installed". If you want to try it again I can send you the fixed bg.exe file...

The patches are available here: http://www.acwgc.org/acwco/patches.asp

I think anyone that plays them uses the 32-bit versions. I run the 32-bit patched originals in an XP virtual machine (Oracle Virtualbox) in Windows 7. Virtualbox is free: https://www.virtualbox.org/wiki/Downloads
