I don't know if they install correctly or not. I've simply copied my patched games from OS to OS for years. That said, when I copied them into Vista/Win7 the start window (BG START) doesn't work (Note: I'm using 64-bit and that's likely the culprit). However, I run the games just fine by selecting t...

No problems here either. Just make certain you DON'T install in the default Program Files folder for Vista or Win7. Create your own folder to install into. I use a folder called GAMES. Lt. General Dirk Gross XIV Corps/AoC http://imgcash3.imageshack.us/img32/4388/14corps.gif

I've been using it for several months. Vista prior to that. I'm using x64 Ultimate. Same as Vista for HPS and BG. So, for BG you need to use the game executable to start rather than the bg_start. Or, if you want the intro menu screen you can run BG games in a virtual machine in XP. I like free Sun V...

I moved my geocities account to atspace.com. I've had problems linking signature pics to it, though. I moved signature pics to imageshack, and they work fine there. You can see a review of Atspace here: http://www.free-webhosts.com/reviews/AtSpace.php My webpage link is set up there now, and my sig ...

You are correct that it's because of how Vista uses Program Files. The saved games are now located in a folder called Program Data. Vista separates the data from the program for programs installed in Program Files. I'm pretty sure the Program Data folder is also associated with a specific user, too....

I'm going to go ahead with just moving them, then. I used to intermittently have that sound "sticking" issue, but it hasn't happened in a long time. If it re-occurs, I'll try to remember it's my fault, not the game's. Rich, are there registry entries that I can copy over? I'm keeping my same folder ...

All, I have 50 HPS games installed in Vista. I'm moving to Win 7, so I need to get those games moved over. I tested simply moving two game folders over to Windows 7 along with the start menu folder. Both games worked OK as far as I can tell. Is there any downside to just moving them over like that? ...

I didn't know about that site. A few years prior to staying on the southern coast of NC, we stayed at Emerald Isle and visited Fort Macon State Park: http://www.bing.com/maps/default.aspx?v=2&FORM=LMLTCC&cp=34.696541~-76.679871&style=h&lvl=17&tilt=-90&dir=0&alt=-1000&...

A lot have been mentioned, But I'd also add Fort Sumter. You take a boat out to the fort, and once there you can see all the other battery positions around it. The dock you leave from is called Patriot's Point http://www.patriotspoint.org/ where the Carrier Yorktown, a submarine, destoyer, and a Coa...

For the BG Series, this from the BG9 manual: To resolve a melee, the program:

Adds two to the differential if any unit that advanced into the melee hex from a hex that was not in any defending unit's Field of Fire;

Adds one to the differential if no attacking involved ...

I'm not sure an automatic manpower recovery rate reflects all that may occur in the days between battles. Some manpower may be recovered by replacements. Depending on the battle, one side may have an advantage that ought to be reflected in the recovery rate. Sickness killed more than battlefield wou...
