Can you remove these obstructions from the map?
After you spike a gun, can you destroy it? If not, why not?

When a gun is destroyed by counter-battery fire, one's imagination pictures a gun actually being hit by a projectile and damaged inflicted. But couldn't guns be rendered "destroyed" by enemy artillery fire even without actual impact with a gun? What if a caisson explodes? What if the horses are kill... |

Hmmm; the Gray Ghost seems to have vanished into thin air. No response to my courier. Perhaps the Ghost himself has been frightened off by the appearance of a real live Yankee Officer.

I have always contended that halving the defensive fire gave a huge advantage to the attacker even though we all know that it should be the defender that should hold the advantage in fire exchanges. After all, the attacker is moving and the defender is steady and probably concealed as much as possib... |

This afternoon, my puppy (Brittany Spaniel) and I took our first walk at Spotsylvania Battlefield -- from the Bloody Angle to McCoul's Farmhouse and over to the monument to Ramseur's Brigade of North Carolinians. Copper, the dog, is almost three months old and handled the trails just fine -- except ... |

Steven Sears' Landscape Turned Red on the Battle of Sharpsburg was great, but my favorites are Shelby Foote and Gordon Rhea. And ooh, there is Cozzen's 2-volume set on Chickamauga and Stones River. Best novel is Killer Angels by far.

The backgrounds are too busy (IMHO); tone down the background so that the figures stand out. They are wonderfully painted.

How does this work? I capture the guns, do I get any points? Then, once the guns are captured and I spike them, do I get any additional points? Once the guns are captured, can they be recaptured? Are points awarded or deducted for recapturing guns? BG Ken 'Muddy' Jones 1/1/XXIII Army of Ohio USA |

I haven't been to every battlefield so I must limit my list to those that I know. These eastern battlefields are generally well preserved: Antietam Manassas Spotsylvania North Anna Brandy Station Chancellorsville/Wilderness (to a lessor extent) And there are some in the Shenandoah Valley that remain... |

Given your time frames, Manassas seems a bit of a stretch. Besides, to get there you would have to pass within miles of all of the Peninsula battlefields (Fair Oaks and the Seven Days), Fredericksburg and Chancellorsville, most of the battlefields from the 1864 Overland Campaign (Wilderness, Spotsyl... |
