Would like to do a Campaign Peninsula game.
I play phased play, all options except 'higher fatigue recovery'.
Fast replies and reliable.

Man, I don't know where you guys are finding these .docs. I have seven different installations of the HPS Civil War series and not one has a folder called "user" nor one with a file with a .doc extension. Does it all depend on the way you install it? I always have to look for rules in the help files... |

In the HPS series how many casualties does a unit have to take before it is forced to do a moral check? Is it as low as "1" man or "10" men? I have always wondered. In the Battleground series with increments of "25" men it was logical to understand, but with single man casualties this isn't clear to... |

Good point on the differences in entrenchments depending on the HPS module. I totally agree that the entrenchments in Seven Days Battles are way too weak. So far every game that I have played, the Union artillery is more than a match for any unit defending in entrenchments. I remember that the 'desi... |

I have to agree with Kennon when it concerns "house rules". One of the reasons I have largely abandoned board war games was the 200 pages of rules that had to be read and understood in order to play the game. With HPS, boot it up and you are playing. Even 17 pages of 'house rules' are a nightmare to... |

Couldn't that be the European edition of Talonsoft's "Gettysburg"? The Box does say Talonsoft on it. |

Some play of scenarios that feature entrenchments has got me thinking about them.
What comes to mind is the “Peninsula†|

Is anyone having difficulty with the formatting when posting in the tavern? When I post and try to "underline" something or "italicize" a word the final result does not appear in the "show" window nor in the final post. For example I am going to "underline" the word "underline" in this sentence. It ... |

OK, got "Forge of Freedom" with the Beta Patch working again. It turns out you need to have the latest version of Shock Wave Player not Flash Player! In a quick cursory examination, I like what I see. It looks like Matrix "is listening" to player feedback. They have created a new more "historical sc... |

When there is a new patch for an HPS Civil War game there are always two extra files that they recommend that you download also. The online help documentation and the printable documentation. Never did figure out the difference. AND, these are big files. My point is: what is the point of downloading... |

Yes, I do update the manual and Help files all the time. But that is my point, WHERE is the information on spiking the guns??? When you go to the index and search for example and type in "spike" you will get a reference as TO WHERE the spiking the guns menu is but I already know that. What I want to... |

Where is the documentation on spiking guns? I have downloaded all of the new files but can't find it in the documentation. Even when I do a 'search' keying in "Victory Points" or "Spiking Guns" no reference comes up. In fact I usually can't find any documentation on how the 'new stuff' works when I ... |

Beware of loading up the Beta Patch!!! I did and now nothing works, and I mean nothing! I get to the loading screen and after about 20 seconds or so the game crashes. I tried it over and over again, re-booting all with the same results. I then un-installed the game to see if I could get back to the ... |
