[quote="S_Trauth"]After testing that out - a couple of things. ... 2) Name length is an issue in some instances- 1 I recall noting -is Maj Gen Pickett (I think it might have been under George Pickett) - but it cut off the M and the last tt's. That's about the character limit before it star...

I've played this game several times, and this time my opponent chose to pull troops off the board to the north, which makes a historical joke of the entire situation of the battle. yes, it was a good tactical move but strategically made a mockery of the entire battle. anyone who understand the real...

Yes, that was a fatal flaw. There were a few occasions where the CSA came close to doing that but that thinking also led to the result at Gettysburg. My view is that Longstreet's strategic thinking was more likely to bring victory. A friend of mine and I used to play Victory Games "The Civil W...

I always liked Rhett Butler's comment, "All We Got Is Cotton, Slaves, and Arrogance."

In line with what Ken Miller has posted, I have encountered situations where the replay I view is from a different game -- my opponent apparently has more than one going. The .BTE subsequently opens to the correct game, which is also the situation if I skip the replay. Do not know the sequence of e...

I have found that not closing an application can produce problems with files, especially the replay file. When doing pbem I have always closed the program to make sure all files are closed and exited properly. I often play several game turns one after another when I have multiple turns come in at th...

I recall reading Lee had been considering reducing the size of the corps and adding a third to the ANV before Jackson's wounding, he thought the Corps were too big to be controlled by a single commander and the small staffs the confederacy had at the time. So now you have two what if's should Jackso...

Field Lieutenant Jansen, I have both games, very familiar with PzC games being a former member of the old PzC club and Blitz member. Have played the PzB Normandy campaign against the AI and a couple smaller scenarios pbem. You can pick game, scenario and side, I normally use default rules as those a...

I read Ron Chernow's book "Grant" when it was released, thought it was a well done biography. Wasn't aware of White's biography, "American Ulysses" will look in to it. Also haven't read Charles C. Calhoun’s 2017 "The Presidency of Ulysses S. Grant". Chernow goes into hi...

If you are interested in playing PzC or PB games you can post in the Opponent Finder- Non sanctioned Club wargames.
Another option would be the Blitz, a lot of Tiller/WDS players there.

This was a change put in for Forgotten Campaigns. The addition of an armor rating was also put in for this game.
You now get VP both for destroying the guns on the ships and the ships themselves.

Ernie, I thought Don Adams did some of the final DoR work at Tiller Con I, seemed to recall him working on his laptop there during gaming breaks and did a search on the forum and I was correct. Here is the announcement of the activation of the DoR at the forum. https://wargame.ch/board/acwgc/viewtop...

Prior to the DoR club records were kept by the people handling admin, I believe it was done by keeping spreadsheets. I remember sending and getting emails to register and end games when I first joined. There was a big blow up in the club and a lot of records were lost. I had started my own webpage t...
