I'm surprised to hear refer to "the new "Previous Stack" button" - I've always had it using the 'Standard' toolbar. I'm guessing that you were using the 'Classic' toolbar which presumably didn't have it. I've just discovered another quirk. The WDS 4.1 announcement said that they... |

I currently only have battles going in Antietam and Overland so I decided to upgrade my remaining CW games. I started with Forgotten Campaigns. I've looked all over for how to change the toolbar back to the 'traditional' format and can't find it. I've sent a note to Rich Hamilton, hoping there is a... |

If Forrest doesn't deserve four stars, no general in the Civil War does. First witness: General Sherman "After all, I think Forrest was the most remarkable man our Civil War produced on either side."-William Tecumseh Sherman True, Forrest didn't get along with Bragg, but neither did anybo... |

One war at a time. I'm not advocating anything Sherman did to the Native American...but we were talking about the Civil War and Sherman's total war against the South. I think what Sherman was saying was that this all could be ended by the surrender of their armed forces. Actually that appears to be... |

I remember when I visited that battlefield many years ago they had a wiard with a broken wheel among those rocks. |

While playing one of the Big East Tournament scenarios (Antietam #186) I noticed that, in 3D mode, there are scarecrows in the two big fields near the centre of the map. I checked a few other scenarios in that title and a couple of other titles but could find no more scarecrows. So, I guess one des... |

I actually prefer the incomplete. Johnston was given an impossible mission with inadequate resources by Davis. While assigning Floyd to command Ft Donelson may have been an error, Floyd's two immediate subordinates, Pillow and Buckner, were experienced leaders, and they pretty much called the shots.... |

I can't remember the book I was reading (I think it was The War For The Common Soldier) but the author made a point to write something to the effect of, "...both sides praying to the same God for victory." Just a sentence that always stuck out it me. That phrase was in Lincoln's second in... |

Some of history's greatest generals lost when the odds against them became too high. And I think he was acutely aware of logistics, particularly after he had to disperse his army during the winter of 1862-1863 due largely to supply chain problems over which he had no control. I think that was the r... |

Lee lost the war. You can't expect a perfect score when you're on the losing team. Had he been more conservative in tactics and strategy he may have bled the north more before the 64 election. He wrecked his own army over time. Grant understood logistics that Lee didn't. Some of history's greatest ... |

I have started a new Antietam Game and I have no background sounds. Can this be corrected? Check the settings at the top of the game screen. There are a number of options that can be checked like on-screen results, music and background sounds. |

I wouldn't rate Joseph Johnston that high. Don't blame him for his defensive tactics in the Atlanta campaign or fault him during the Peninsula Campaign, but I believe his handling of the Vicksburg Campaign was negligent. True, he advised Pemberton to abandon Vicksburg, but he should have relocated t... |

This brought to mind a poem we studied in school about a different war. Pretty graphic I thought. Dulce Et Decorum Est by Wilfred Owen. Bent double, like old beggars under sacks, Knock-kneed, coughing like hags, we cursed through sludge, Till on the haunting flares we turned our backs, And towards o... |
