Given your question and response, then the game does not provide a use for skirmishers that they were used for. That is to see over the hill, out of the woods for a distance of line of sight. They were there to check out what was in front and report back. One hex (125 yards), does not cut it. The la...

Ted,

Thank you for the lesson - and a very sound thrashing it was, too![B)][B)] I hope you took my example in retreat to heart as you retreat from Harrisburg (as you eventually must)...[:D]

I hope to be there! [}:)]

Don, I've been through the same thing that you're going through. My father had a triple bypass a long time ago (in 1988). I didn't know about it until he went into hospital (it was also the day after he found out, so I wasn't too upset on that count!) It was a very hard day (+ some) to be at work an...

1. Yes - 2 out of 3 are Norris/Frost variants; all started prior to obtaining HPS Gettysberg. 2. No (2 battles, 4 campaigns) 3. Yes (Corinth & Gettysberg) These are my first HPS games/campaigns and I am finding it a completely new system. I tend to like the integrated defensive fire - no hiding. Maj...

Gentlemen, It is with great pleasure that I am first on the board to announce the first "victory" in round 2. Gen Rick Martin and I had agreed on Campaign Gettysberg-63 "Encounters along Sth Mtn" as our mirror match. It is only a 15 turn game but is particularly complicated with units spread over th...

Don,

Well done! Magnificent! Your philanthropy is very appreciated.

I'm also very glad that you thought of it before I did! [:D]

I'll put in for Ed's sentiments as well; we should have an opportunity to contribute $, if we can. [^]

Oh, goody! We have two of our better Generals, one from each side, both upset with the automatic disruption of units that have had the misfortune of being routed through. Or is it that they have a potentially legitimate complaint concerning the automatic direction of routs? I agree with how routs se...

Sir,

Apologies in advance - I just couldn't resist! [:D]

The trick seems to be to kill more of your enemy's cavalry than your own! I must admit that I'm not that good at it yet! [:(!]
