I can't believe they would allow any gun, especially with a bayonet, on school grounds.

I wonder what's easier to cross; the Rio Grande or the border between California and Mexico? I haven't heard the term Wetback in many years. I think they tunnel nowadays or just walk across.

In those days the Feather River had fish. Now there is a limit of 1 catch/day.

I know others in this club have antecedents who experienced the Civil War. They must have left some documents or writings behind. Perhaps they will share them with us.

Sir: I was to blame as much as you as I over-reacted. I accept your apology and in return offer mine. The AotM will always be our favorite Confederate Army so perhaps we tend to be more sensitive to matters belligerent. I hope we can continue on with friendship but still carry on with the mild bante...

Some years ago, my mother gave me some papers that belonged to my Great-Grandfather, Edmund Dayton. These papers were cut outs from "Regimental Losses in the Civil War", copies of applications for Pensions, letters from the G.A.R and some personal correspondence from old war buddies. But t...

You can't deny history. The Russians tried it in their country and it was a joke. I can see objections to references to the KKK but to ignore or try to erase the existence of memorials to brave men to died for their cause will only fan the flames of prejudice and create bad feelings for the relative...

Why a holiday to remember the Confederate dead would interfere with MLK or have anything to do with him is beyond me.

Mr. Herbert was looking for an argument but I will not oblige him. If you go back and retrace this post you will see that he jumped from my innocuous comments about Cats and the confederacy to an immediate attack on our honor. I had no intention of impuning the dignity of the AotM but he just decide...

Neal: this is getting out of hand. I was initially talking about cats but now this is degenerating. I will do my dealings with Gen. Strickler and it will be respectful, not spiteful. I have said all I need to say until the time comes to challenge the AotM. what I am doing is to put some pizzazz into...

So you are refusing to fight? There are no caps on battles (and bravado) but evidently there is on courage and Sir, you have come up short. So what if you have won some battles, we have also including the victory in only 12 turns over the AotM. We're not talking about a single battle coming up but 2...

I love the Turner Classic Movie Channel and watched "They Won't Forget" (1937) starring Claude Rains. In the movie, Confederate Memorial Day was mentioned and I don't remember it being mentioned on this forum or celebrated in any way although I probably missed it. When was it held? Is it s...
