I'd like to thank all for the kind words, they do truly mean a great deal to me. I'd like to once again say that this decision is not a reflection of the club in any way, but simply a matter of available time. I certainly will not rule out a return at some point, though I will not promise such eithe...

Honestly, while there are problems, often, I don't think the rates are as bad as we think. Do the numbers involved represent KIA/WIA only? Or do they also represent stragglers, runners who can't be rallied until after the battle, and just a more generic way of stating that a unit is less capable in ...

Well, one thing that didn't get mentioned in full detail (though Rich did hint at it). Aside from HPS games that have come out in the last year or so (which have a new Vista/7 friendly installer), you -cannot- install to the default directory in Vista or Windows 7. I'm sure Rich or someone could giv...

I've found that the way I've done it for years still works fine, but you may be doing it in a different way that's giving issues. So... 1) I use WinZip. Yeah, I had to pay, and the recent upgrade is actually a step back in terms of user-friendly, but it's reliable for me. 2) I use Mozilla Thunderbir...

I would like to see the ACWGC work through all of these issues in a mature, reasonable manner. One of the things I will say in sermons from time to time is that there are "three sides to every story. My side, your side and the truth, and none of the three necessarily have anything to do with one ano...

I'm going to ask here for calm on all sides. It goes without saying that Notso has been a "lightning rod" in the history of the club, with a great deal of controversy swirling around him, with some liking him, others not. As such, this situation has the potential of blowing up in our faces in no tim...

2D entirely. I'm an old boardgamer, and honestly, I think the game looks better 2D (not so fancy, but cleaner)

I find that about 1/10 of the time someone sends me an unzipped turn, I have to ask them to resend... while the number of times I've had problems with a zipped turn is pretty close to 0. So, I much prefer Zipped for that.

Joe: you may find it helpful to note, Talonsoft/Matrix FBR, or HPS FBR (which is on the Antietam disk)

Good luck finding a reb to slap :)

Nope, Leyte's not in Midway. A couple of reasons. First off, the map would have been a memory hog (with all those islands), and frankly, it wasn't much of a "carrier battle" with Ozawa running around as big fat decoy. Pearl Harbor (with hypotheticals) Wake Island (all hypo) Coral Sea (with Hypos) Mi...

The idea behind allowing them to be removed in a campaign is that losses carry over from battle to battle... so "escaping to fight again" is a valid tactic.
