Guys, I've decided to start up a new Civil War blog which deals with Civil War reading and Civil War gaming. I hope to post maybe 2-3 times a week on whatever comes to mind. It's located at http://brettschulte.net/ACWBlog/ . A lot of the reviews I post here will be displayed there, as well as observ... |

I know we already have tons of optional rules in the HPS ACW games, but this one looks like a winner. The Gamers' Brigade series of games uses a method similar to this as well. As others have already mentioned, the Civil War was primarily a shooting war, so anything that limits melees in a sensible ... |

Dierk, I'd love to see both road column and attack column, sort of how it is portrayed in Age of Rifles. I don't know how much coding would be involved, however. <blockquote id="quote"><font size="3" face="book antiqua" id="quote">quote:<hr height="1" noshade id="quote"><i>Originally posted by D.S. ... |

Pierre, I believe Drew and I talked about that briefly during playtesting. From what I remember, I don't think there are any good sources as to exactly where around Richmond the Confederate Cavalry was during Seven Pines. Either that or there are conflicting sources. As a result, rather than have pl... |

Guys, Today is the anniversary of the first day of the Battle of Globe Tavern, fought August 18-21, 1864. This is an excellent example of the Battles of the Petersburg Campaign which could use a good book describing them. The H. E. Howard book covering Second Deep Bottom, Globe Tavern, ad Reams' Sta... |

The Civil War Discussion Group is a great place to discuss the war, and many authors and publishers are members of the group. If any members of the ACWGC are interested, they definitely want people interested in the Civil War to sign up. http://www.cwdgonline.org/portal/index.php -Brett Schulte HPS ... |

Don, I'm definitely no Little Mac fan. My review was meant to reflect what Beatie said. Mac was a great organizer, but he just didn't have the hard edge required to fight to the finish. If he had even an ounce of killer instinct Lee would have suffered greatly at Antietam. <blockquote id="quote"><fo... |
