Is it possible for the Confederates in HPS Shiloh to capture the Pittsburgh Landing hex space with no negative repercussions? Does the 5 hex "magic envelope of automatic rout" count for this game? I seem to remember that one of the versions (perhaps it was the Talonsoft title) that the real objectiv...

Ernie, I'm up for a game and I reply quickly win or lose. Prefer phased play. Any disk, except 'Franklin'. I find that one hopeless.

Battle or Campaign.

I'm getting the 'fusion error timed out' report when I go to the Records Department. Is anyone else getting this?

Joe: Totally agree. Since a lot of us are playing 'phased play' I see no reason at all why an infantry formation can't change formation whenever it wants. It is one of the 'nagging' little rules that has never been corrected and hurts the game as a simulation a great deal. Bg. General Gilbert Collin...

Ken: Yes, I remember that variant very well. At the time, we thought it was just great having one board but in actual fact being able to play three different Civil War Battles on it. In those days when maybe you would get a new Civil title every five years or so it was terrific. Sadly, playing that ...

For the HPS Civil War series, I'm still buying. I can't say the same for the Colonial nor Napoleonic titles. See my comments on the new "Chancellorsville" disk. This one has the potential to be my favorite HPS title. I WOULD like to see some standardization in the scenarios as far as terrain costs g...

The Chancellorsville Disk may turn out to be the best Civil War disk HPS has ever produced, at least for me. For one thing I love the return to sanity of whole batteries for Confederates. Man.....I hated that sectional artillery. Probably a good part of the appeal for me is the fact that one of my f...

Ken: I'm confused about your graphics. When I go to a site like the "Antietam Graphics" there are three sets there. Why three, when they are all named 'units.bmp' ??? When I unzip them in the appropriate folder it of course asks if I want to over write them. Bg. General Gilbert Collins Army of Alaba...

October - November The confederacy seems incapable of winning a battle, except in those cases where they throw 'an army' at a corps, like what happened in Franklin, West Virginia. Beuregard 'wins' there, pushing back a Union brigade that tried to defend alone. Yes, the DEFENDER can defend uncoordina...

September 1861 As Kennon pointed out they have made some changes from the first edition and I think the opening moves play better now. I wish West Virginia was not an automatic Union victory though. If that could be made a 50/50 chance of staying in the Confederacy, maybe the designer could adjust t...

Kennon and I have been continually playing this game since we got it some months ago. Switching sides after each play. Kennon is becoming something of a resident expert on this thing, alas I have been unable to defeat him as either side. The game has been patched to correct some minor errors and 'tw...
