For the few who fight Civil War battles and also fly virtual planes, I made a MSFS 2020 Bush Trip that follows the ANV march from Fredericksburg to Gettysburg. Includes commentary mostly on Ewell's part of the advance as he led the way. https://flightsim.to/file/68272/gettysburg-campaign-bush-trip

Looking for an opponent to play CSA side against me as Union in scenario 039 Battle of Chickamauga(H) No one will play me as CSA, claiming the game favors the Union too much. Well, time to put up or shut up. DoR does show the Union winning about 2:1 to Rebel. But then they are commanded by Yankees. ...

Myself plus Gary K. and Gary H. are looking for some Union players for the Surprise at Dawn scenario of Gettysburg. Need opponents that can have good turnaround time for emails since this is a 256 turn scenario. Luckily it seldom goes that long before one side or the other throws in the towel. For t...

Automated Defensive Fire - OFF(For Phase gameplay, works only there) Been a while since I have been able to get anyone to play phased but if I remember correctly you do need this on if you want to PBEM and not require an extra set of emails per turn. The AI does a reasonable job of firing defensive...

Alternate Fixed Unit Release - OFF

Disagree with this. Should be ON.

Reason: Most players know or can look up the exact position of these units. Then plan attack paths that will allow them to surround the unit before closing with it. 5 hex trigger makes this tactic much more difficult.

Need a CSA opponent for Scenario 05H Camp - Savage Station to Malveran Hill June 29 to July 1 This is a 174 turn scenario so need someone with relatively quick turnaround of moves. I can usually return a move the same day if I receive it early enough. All optional rules except Manual Defensive Fire ...

For those who want to know more about this game without buying it I have two AAR's going on over on the Matrix forums. Strategic Command: American Civil War is a faster paced and more simplified rendering of playing the entire Civil War. It has a much simpler production system. Victory is based off of "Fighting Spirit" which is their name for National Morale. Likewise, its supply system is handled based on...

The rule is rather clunky, but its main purpose is to stop people from doing things that commanders in the Civil War would never do. Detaching units to wonder around the map unsupported. Isolation gives the enemy a means to cheaply kill such units. Also doing unsupported penetrations of a line. With...

I got it just to see how well it works. Haven't done the Strategic play since it still has a lot of bugs that might stop it. The Tactical game is fun but they make the AI competitive by having it do most of the play. You have limited control over your troops. And, for some reason no control over you...

I don't particularly care for the change that hides the VP value. It only means anything the first time you play the scenario. After that it is just a penalty for a new player. That said, remember VP hexes only apply at the end of the game unless they are the type that accumulates per turn or are ex...

Keep in mind at the time of the Civil War land was not as neatly trimmed. Crops or weeds were in the way cutting of half the view easily. The land was also not flat. Sometime go on War of Rights if you have access and look around. You can't see much of anything. And, that is before the smoke starts....
