I just played a turn. during the Union turn the Rebs lost a total of 486 men to 134 for the Yanks. During my move I fired all stacks combined and any unit that was less than 100 men facing more than one enemy unit did not fire. All guns fired combined. The Rebs lost 85 men and the Yanks lost 424. So... |

I would like to state that my recent posts are not criticisms of the HPS games. I really enjoy them and will continue. My issue is simply with Antietam and the problems I am having in a current game. And Rich, I would like to play a manouver against you in order to learn how the Rebs should play tha... |

My counter batter activity was mainly when I had flank shots. I did leave guns in harms way in order to draw the enemy fire away from infantry I had digging in and I accept those losses. Still, I am unsure how I could have done anything different unless it was to fire all my stacked unit combined. I... |

We are playing turn based. My eighty men fire and get shot by 500 or their 500 shoot and my 80 fire back. Either way they lost 5 and I lose 25. Perhaps phased play would be the way to go.

I am currently playing HPS Antietam historical scenario. So far this game is the most one sided I have played from any of the games. My opponent has used artillery and rifle fire exclusivley and I have no counter. He didn't begin his attacks on the West Woods until about turn 18 and it is now turn 2... |

If closed means you have your opponent then...never mind. But if you still need a Reb, I'm your huckleberry...send courier.

I have just now read this topic and I noticed a reference to BCE. I think this would be one of the best advances that could be made in both the Civil War and Nappy games. So often it seems that these games turn into fight to the death matches. Units simply fight long past the point where they would ... |

I think this has been discussed before but I wanted to bring it up again to see what ideas may have come up. It is my opinion that the small arms supply for the Confederates at Gettysburg is way too low. I see that in some of the updated scenarios the Rebs have wagons added and that should solve the... |

I tend to think of house rules as being added to stop situations that the game engine allows but realistically would not happen. The original house rules came about I believe with the BG Napoleonic games. In fact the first one I recall was to give skirmishers a "leash" to their parent unit. The desi... |

I am interested in what most of ya'll think about artillery being used to block retreat. I am of the opinion that it should not be done unless the batteries are in an established position and the defender is "cornered". To move guns around and enemy unit to block seems rather unrealistic I would thi... |

I am of the opinion that the house rules regarding night action have been made unnecessary by the changes to the games themselves. It also seems that these rules almost always lead to confusion. I am currently in a mult-player Gettysburg game with the "no melee at night" rule in place and my opponen... |
