I went through a similar arch too. I am using more 2d now, especially when I want more of a big picture thing and to help me think about space/time. I do not use the brigade colors very often, sometimes it can be too much information. I use the highlight formation. I use the highlight division choic... |

I tend to try and not jump around too much so as to not drive my opponent nuts watching the replay, but as I noted my mind has a tendency to wander. I too think about tipping the hand etc and, at times when I am anxious about what I hope is a surprise move (in our game, something like sending Hill a... |

Kevin, if it was my replay you were watching I should have given you a general warning-with games this size I often cannot play it in one sitting so watching my replay can be chaotic, as I will often not pick up where I left off. Or, I will be puzzled about what to do in one sector in the middle of ... |

I would have liked to see that, although I prefer the regiment level as opposed to AoR brigade level (I seem to remember the oob limitations making regiment level impossible)...I spent a ton of time with that editor too... |

I would try that-putting it in C:Ageod/... and try that. I do not know if it will let you install it that way or if the PBEM will work.. |

Scott, did you install the game in the root C drive menu with its own AGEOD folder? My problems were with the program files folders and anything therein... |

I think AGEOD can me modded but it takes some work...I loved AGE too even though the oob sizes were annoying and a lot of the stock scenarios were only so so (the Franco Prussian War ones were terrible, as were the Russo-Japanese ones for the most part)... |

I have not tried a PBEM in Windows 7. Installing old HPS games is frustrating enough in Windows 7. When I got a new computer that came with it, I was lucky that one of my opponents, the Union General Bob Hughes, could talk me through it. Maybe he is not such a scoundrel after all... |

Scott, do you mean the file exchange? It takes a little getting used to and then I found it to work fine. Or is there another issue? I have finished 6 or 7 PBEM games of it, including multiplayer. WTBS is also an amazing game and is easier to play and complete than the AGEOD game. It certainly repre... |

I am really looking forward to this. My favorite games of the new millennium have been the HPS Tiller game (Napoleonic and Civil War), and AGEOD's Civil War. Their Russian Civil War is fantastic as well and some of the engine changes in it may port well to 1861... |

I think that at New Orleans in 1812 Jackson had a series of fortifications blocking the different routes in the City. As with Grant at Vicksburg in 1862-63, the British had several different approaches to the city but once they made a decision to choose a line of advance, there was a limited amount ... |
