Way to much time is being spent on this issue IMO. Yes there may be a slight statistical advantage for the Union artillery due it's larger batteries. Yes, combined firing of the batteries on single enemy batteries is not historical. There are going to be trade offs in these games as well as elements...

You can purchase them right off the INTERNET, just do a google search on US Navy Officer dress white uniforms.
