All of us involved appreciate Dan's willingness to take on multiple battles simultaneously, as it kept the tournament bracket full, and kept some players from having to sit on the sideline. An excellent example of the best gaming spirit of the club. Gen. Matt Perrenod The Blue Ghost Commandan...

I'm not sure of the historic accuracy, (I do think Al makes a very good point about the speed of army movement being restricted by supply logistics), but I look at this as simply a game management challenge. And I don't see it chiefly as a Reb problem - certainly I wonder why no wagons for the Rebs ...

Coming to this late, and no time to scan the entire thread - if there's still a need for funds, I'd be happy to contribute. Someone e-mail me the details. Gen. I agree strongly with the need for better information in the pre-battle decision options. Most of the HPS games have been very poor in this regard, with notable exceptions for Corinth and Ozark. It really has come down to rock, paper, scissors - you can't really apply any real strategy, because the ...

Gentlemen, please join me in a salute to General Ken Miller, who is retiring from the faculty of the Union Military Academy. He will be sorely missed. Gen. Miller joined the faculty in 2000, ranking among our most senior instructors. Since then, he has trained at least 33 cadets (almost certainly mo...

This proposal will be a challenge for the training academies. Every time you add a new gaming system, the management of the training programs becomes increasingly complex. The challenge is to maintain a training staff of sufficient staff and diversity of training competence that you can respond imme...

Gen. Denner - I sent a courier directly to your tent, but he must have been waylaid by your pickets. We have an assembled team of 4-5 AoS members who are ready to take you on, if you're still game. Would prefer one of the HPS GB maps other than the GB map, since we cleared PA of Rebs in our most rec...

Well, we've got a Colonel and a Major who want in (see below). Seems to me that there ought to be an old soldier or two that want to defend the Rebel honor - am I right? Gen. My congratulations to Ken, and thanks for the excellent work he's done. The AoS has indeed been fortunate in its leadership. Not to mention that Ken was running the Tessier match for those two years as well. He should get two MoHs. Good succession planning as well. Thanks to John for stepping up, an...

After two years and 83 turns, the AoS boys (Dean, Kaulbars, Murphy, Walter & myself) finally defeated our honorable opponents from the ANV (Gens. Goodman, White, Thayer and Krenek) on the field of Gettysburg. Now we'd like to see if there's another team that wants to take us on in a multiplayer. We ...
