Lee can't be a one-stop fix for all of the western theater's problems. He can't be at every battle, and as theater commander would have been absent from a battle like Ft. Donelson, so to assume that they could have escaped would be to assume that more changes are made. Anything is possible if you ch...

I think one thing this debate is missing is the state of both theaters at the time of Pope's appointment. Assuming that Pope was retained in the west, and the commander of the Army of Virginia still came from that theater, the commander would not have been Grant. Grant is stuck in the middle of what...

Bridges in Chancellorsville are ridiculous. In Vicksburg, I completed a bridge with around 900 men in under two hours. It took me three hours to build a bridge so that infantry could cross, and that was with troops working from both sides of the river! It's probably more accurate in Chancellorsville...

I can't think of any case where guns were shot to be blown up, but I know that there were several times when guns were carted away by whoever took them (Williamsburg springs to mind). While its not the same thing, it still gives the opposing player some points. To be honest, it seems that the most b...

Platoons were the basic unit size, allowing the game to encompass several battalions. Squad Battles seems too small, and PzC seems too big. As a result, you can't really fight out battles like Omaha Beach or Arnhem. Maj. Dylan McCartney IV Brigade/ I Division XIV Corps Army of the Cumberland Union A...

Sealion...makes me think of the expansion to Talonsoft's West Front. I had a lot of fun with that. Is there a specific reason why that scale of combat has been ignored by HPS?

Actually, I think this did happen to me! There were two guns that I destroyed over two turns. When I looked back at the Victory Dialogue, it said I had destroyed one gun. I thought I was going nuts! The Shenandoah. Two campaigns, '62 with Old Jack, and the '64 campaign from start to finish. That's really the last major campaign that offers the sort of freedom of movement that really works in these games. The Overland campaign is left too, but that one is more limited in maneuver, and I'd rather...

I've been forced recently to reinstall Windows, and therefore all of my games. I'm fine with everything except BG Chickamauga. I recall that there is a patch that allows it to be played on XP, but the link in the VMI is broken, and the UMA doesn't appear to have one. Does anyone know where I can get...
