It would be interesting to hear from the designers what criteria they used for determining movement points per turn? I calculate that Infantry & Artillery units presently 'march' ,under the game engine, at just under 3 miles per hour. This is a very good pace for a body of troops to maintain under n...

If you are willing, Sir? I could be your man. I've never faced you in battle but feel I already know you from following your posts on the club forums! (we have never really crossed swords there either?) Any preference you may have for optional rules is fine with me and I should be able to meet your ...

You dirty Rebs should be very careful what you wish for. If the fixed unit release rules are overhauled at your insistence, then the Union experience on the first day at Shiloh will become very much easier too. Forget isolated Brigades, the ENTIRE Union Army is fixed in place there and I imagine a n...

Now I am ready, I would like to have a go at playing them. Am open to all offers, whatever choice of scenario and any optional rules. Send couriers t...

I have just received my copies of Atlanta & Chickamauga. I don't know a huge amount about these battles so was looking forward to reading the designers campaign notes. I cannot open the notes from the program menu though. Does anyone know what the default program is that should be used to open these...

What is the reason (I believe the designers gave one) for prohibiting the construction of breastworks in some scenarios? I am playing a campaign secenario on HPS Peninsula as Union and I feel my opponent has gained a very real advantage by the fact that I am unable to build breastworks to meet his a...

No. I believe that breastworks are built within the hex and so only the constructing side receives the benefit? You can build breastworks on a hexside from both sides?

I only ever play in 3D and I use zoom-in and zoom-out 3D views fairly equally. Conversely to Joe's comment, I only use the 2D screens to check on the layout of terrain that is obscured by the 3D elevation and where breastworks are etc...(if only we had a rotate map feature?) I've only tried playing ...

Well, I've taken note of the comments here and after counting out my pennies!...decided to go for Atlanta......and Chickamauga. I was offered a very tempting '5 for 3' deal, but have gone back to the online NWS store again with my custom. As long as I can manage to purchase them faster than they can...

If we are going to start demanding changes? then I'll chip in with mine! I want to see the 5 Regiments of Jackson's Brigade...currently rated as 'B' quality...changed to 'D' or at best 'C' quality. A Brigade of 'B' quality troops at this early point in the war is ridiculous! I never see a Reb player...

I now own four(4) of the HPS Civil war battles series. Corinth, Gettysburg, Peninsula and Antietam. I guess I will slowly purhase the others until I have them all...but, can anyone suggest which one I should buy next? I've never been able to find any player reviews of the games and I would trust the...

I used to play with all the optional rules on simply because I didn't want to 'miss out' on anything and It's easier to arrange games with new opponents that way, rather than argue about what gets left in or out. Also, I trusted that the designers had developed each additional rule for a reason and ...
