Bill Nice post. Fog has its own inherant problems. A truly great commander such as Stonewall could indeed "sneak" around a flank but thats why He`s known as a GREAT commander. Giving all commanders the tremendous ability to sneak around can lead to battles that are every bit as ahistorical as just l...

Was going to just add this to my thread on HPS/GB but it deserves its own topic. HPS/GB seems to be a better simulation than the Talonsoft version. By this I simply mean more realistic in what commanders can see and the decesions that they can make. Talonsoft might be a better "game" in that its eas...

I am starting to wonder if the many many scenerios are really going to be stand alone battles. Bill Peters mentioned adapting the BG Gettysburg to the HPS System in a smaller scenerio. I just have a hunch that there will be more amalgamation of the two. I tend to think that the HPS system was design...

[:)] Wow! Just started 007 the Battle of Gettysburg(HPS) vs General Don Adams. This is not BGG although familier enough to jump right in. It would seem that the skill level involved might be higher as there are many more units( nee Norris/Frost), a much bigger map thus more strategic decesions and a...

Then we spent about 6 hours playing turn 1 and I botched the attack so bad the battle was essentially over, Yet 14 hours for one turn and I still have pleasent memories-ah to be young!![8D] Now, has anyone tried a monster g...

Just received my HPS games Corinth and Gettysburg, Now I dont have unlimited time so I have been trying to get a feel for the HPS games. ( I already LOVE the BG games). It seems that everybody loves the concepts of HPS but those that actually have been intensly playing them see rather fatal flaws,( ...
