Stonewall Jackson didn't scout by himself. A squad was with him . . . and he got punished for breaking the norm--!

Placing supply wagons in exposed forward positions, where they'll be more apt to attract defensive fire.

I have sent a courier through the lines.

Descriptions get confusing when right and left are used, because we don't know if it's your right or his, your left or his. It would help if you could use east and west, north and south otherwise. Thanks. Enjoying the thread.

While visiting my daughter in Clifton, Virginia, just a few miles down the road from the battlefields of Manassas, I spent a few hours wandering around Henry House Hill and Matthews Hill, the Stone Bridge, and environs. Upon returning to California, I decided to re-read William C. Davis's "Batt...

On purpose, I use knowledge of the replay my opponent will be watching . . . If there's a unit either routed or in desperate harm's way (for example) and I want to deceive which way that unit may retreat and escape, I will go to the fartherest-away sighted unit on the map, move one thing there, then...

My favorite 'last words' are Socrates: "I drank what?"

It's only fair to point out that Longstreet's Chickamauga (Day Two) assault came against a point in the Union line that had recently been vacated by mistake. Not hard to penetrate that; doesn't take a lot of brilliance.

To my mind, Daniel writes too much like he has something to prove, or perhaps dis-prove. I much prefer Wiley Sword's "Shiloh Bloody April."

I remember the first time I saw the movie "Gettysburg." In a regular theatre, and not a small one. I didn't bother to come very early, because I had no idea that I would find a long long line at the box office. My seats were a little too close and way off on the side aisle, but the experie...

Sorry, no "at whims." Can't be changed during a replay.

"Nearly right" counts for something? What? Nada. Zero. Zilch. Zippo. Nuttin' honey.

Maybe 'Old Brains' played horseshoes . . . ?
