If I dig up the manuals (good luck there) I seem to remember a list of the factors that governed the chance to build breastworks, and unit strength was definitely a factor (if I recall correctly). Gents, My opinion is that if your opponent leaves a battery so undefended that a 55 man cavalry unit can take it, then he deserves to lose those guns.
