I think that sounds like an interesting idea. The turn system results in the non-phasing player's units standing there and watching an enemy unit whisk around their flank or some other thing they would have an opportunity to react to in real time. Far away from each other, turns don't affect things....

I don't see a problem with it. Most if not all the BG games are out of print and near impossible to find. They say they'll bundle the games so the value will be there, especially for those who got into the games late. However, I'm guessing they won't be compatible with the older games which will mak...

42. First real wargame was AH Richtofen's War back in the mid-seventies. I've still got over 20 AH and SPI games stored in the basement. Computers made solitaire play much more interesting!

I prefer to keep it as is. It aids in the role playing spirit in this club that makes it unique. For example, in the Blitz I'm in the US army (PZC), but there's no sense of role playing there at all. It's still fun, just missing that component. I'd hate to see that diminished. Major General Dirk Gro...

Cool! A tie for third. That means they gotta give us FOUR updates to the engine! [:D]

1. Arty capture/recapture (including unlimbered retreat from melee) 2. Higher/more frequent defensive fire with reduced offensive fire after movement for infantry in turn mode. 3. Arty disruption solution And if there was a fourth one I'd say artillery ammo... P.S., How about turning off the trigger...

To better reflect simultaneous movement, I propose the system only give 1 movement point per unit per turn. [:o)] Actually, I think the movement versus fire has been used in many other games (Steel Panthers I think?) and it makes sense to me that if you're walking, you're not shooting or reloading.....

I have spoken before and basically agree with Col. B. that guns should be able to retreat in melee. High losses in melee may result in the battery getting wiped out, but not automatically as it is now. This represents the depth of guns in the 125 yd hex (at least when stacked with infantry). When no...

I got the 20" 16:9 2005FPW last Christmas and it works great for large map areas. Not as big as the 2405 but only half the cost. I haven't tried it yet, but it will pivot sideways which may come in handy for those "taller" battles... BTW, I just broke the century mark on forum posts. Do I get a meda...

I personally like the guns in sections to capture the effect of different gun types. I'd hate to consolodate on one type to keep it in one icon. Just a touch of detail I like to see...

I don't agree that the BG series was better. I've had entire divisions wiped out in that series and the casualties are almost always 2x or 3x higher than actual. Maybe a simple fix is to increase the defenders fire rate. If the attackers are taking hits every hex the casualties will add up over long...

Glad to hear about Caleb Vicks. He usually says the hurricanes don't bother him much where he's at, but this one ran right down Mississippi's throat. I hope power's all he lost. We've been fightin' the Civil War since '01!

I prefer #1 to #2, and I would not like to see full batteries in place of sections. As others have said, ammo should be used by section. I'd still like to see unlimbered artillery be treated as limbered in melee defense, that is, possibly retreated with losses in a disrupted state instead of automat...
