<Salute>
An excellent post.
Now, if I could just figure out how to beat them in the Atlanta campaign. Mark and Cam continue to eat up my soldiers. There are not a lot of gaps.
What are some ways others have found to overcome them?

Used to be a spot that told us how much it cost, and how much was raised. That was excellent information. I am just missing it? If not, can it be put back up?

I like Thomas, but most of the time he was covered by a higher ranked commander. I do believe that since he was a Southern born general fighting for the North, he would have never received a major command. Grant and he did not get along as well.

The best way to improve simulation games is to allow the users to refine them. I hope that happens. As for the killer cannons in Chancellorsville, I have suffered it in one of my current battles. Neal's observations make a lot of sense, and finally, the best post is to make the infantry work the way... |

One of my favorite books-However, I felt that the book also included Grant's human treatment of the defeated rebel army as a cause. It does certainly praise the southern General for not taking to the hills as some of his top officers suggested.

Playing a game(Chancellorsville) against an excellent opponent, Mark Davis, as the union, I have found his artillery fire to be especially effective and deadly. In, so much, it started me inquiring of a few senior officers about "was it too good". I also commented on how effective the Reb ... |

We also must remember 1. South was in desperate straights at this time 2. Hood was brave and Davis appointed him to attack. 3. As for Davis, who else could he appoint. The marble man refused to leave the Army of Va. 4. The Lost Cause proponents always look for the what if-Trust me, the Union winning... |
