Ross,
an alternative to the current supply system would be to get rid of supply for infantry units, and let the fatigue, which is "combat fatigue," simulate supply levels. Not perfect, but increased fatigue coudl carry heavier fire penalties... |

Ross, your point about Lee's past feets of manouver ring true. However, I seem to remember a series of quoutes from Lee about having taken the measure of his opponents and based his actions upon those observations. McClellen and Pope always did what Lee expected. Similarly, he felt he had the measur... |

Last year, I bought the abirdged version for 7 dollars at Borders and I loved it. Sure, it is old and maybe not quite as accurate as more modern stuff (or maybe not, the guy was a real bookworm). But he is not shy about giving opinion and is an excellent writer. For that price it is a great deal! In... |

Wow! This is good news! I am guessing this game will be much more difficult to win as the rebs than in real life! Well, it was difficult then too but both battles were such major tactical and strategic victories we rebs will be hard pressed to duplicate history! |

ok, inspired by this thread, I reinstalled FoF and am remembering just how detailed it is! Although this is my least favorite of the three this is a great game. I played it a lot when it came out and am only now trying the tactical battles (which I heard are much better than when it came out)... I a... |

I am guessing you are not running as an administrator (which is good, the IT guy at work said not to run as an admin..) When you open the HPS folder, it may give you an option on the top menu that says something like "view compatability files." clicking that may help. Also, putting the HPS folder ri... |

WbtS is a very good strategic simulation, and much less "zoomed in " than the other two. no sieges, for example. I really, really like it and think it makes you think pretty historically about troop allocations, calling up drafts, and when to build what... Ageods game is my favorite of the three, ev... |

Kennon, build river transports in the west (except Missouri where, depending on your approach you may need some wagons) and not supply. Also, early on, in the East you do not need many unless you are wildly successful early. The Peninsula and any coastal cities and forts you take can be supplied be ... |

Kennon, I agree with your last point. And the Rebs may not have run out but they were low enough that they were pretty worried about it and it changed their behavior.
The ammo points by barrel would certainly solve the problem Ross raises about the one gun batteries.. |
