To my mind, Warren's past reputation was his biggest problem. He was known for second guessing his superiors; also for conservative actions and half measures in following orders. Grant was aware of this; hence his discretionary orders to Sheridan.

I'm a union stagehand at the bottom of the San Francisco Bay called Silicon Valley. Too old now for traveling as a roadie, I stay at home and work touring concerts and Broadway musicals. I am blessed with working at a job I love.

Having decided to play a campaign using my Chickamauga disk for the first time in a while, I first checked to see which version I had installed. It was version 1.04. In checking for updates, I noticed that the HPS site didn't have anything more recent, but the John Tiller Site did. I downloaded and ...

Nope. "I only play..." doesn't jive with my "I like to play..." which means something different.

I didn't vote because my choice was not on the list . . . I like to play with all options on (including MDF) except for a certain few (artillery capture, the new FOG, etc)

I agree with Chris Perleberg . . . both his suggestions are at the top of my list. Put a pause button into playbacks; have some kind of dynamic sighting. You should be able to see what's in a valley from the top of a surrounding hill, not have to go into the valley and bump into them to "see&qu...

Thank you very much for the prompt answer.

What other aspects of the "Extreme" fog-of-war should I be aware of? . . . or where can I find notes and/or a
discussion of it? Couldn't find that in any "help" files.

What's with the standard "visible hexes" not working? No matter what I do, I can't click on a hex and see what hexes are visible from there. Is something wrong with my download, or is there a non-intuitive trick I need to know? The old system was fine, perfect, not broke. I hope we didn't ...

My father was just getting out of the naval hospital in San Diego on December 7, 1941, when he heard the news. He was supposed to be at Pearl Harbor, but was diagnosed with mumps the day his regiment shipped out. As it was, he arrived at Pearl by plane three days later, and spent his first week &quo...

Robideau Wheat, of the Louisiana Tigers, was one such officer. He also fought with Garibaldi in Italy. He was killed in the Seven Days. I suspect there was more than one officer that fits the bill.

Last year, I read the first four, one after the other. It was an experience denied by any other method, showing the intensity and relentlessness of those few short weeks. The first four are "Battle of the Wilderness," "The Road to Spottsylvania and Yellow Tavern," "To the No...
