Ahhhhh.... Battery McOmish Tavern....

Once again the Confederate side of the Club leads the way in honoring those amongst us who contribute to the Club in substantial and meaningful ways over a long period. I'd sure hate to be a Yankee!

I will raise this thoroughly clean glass and toast the good General McOmish and wish him many more years of good health and good liquor!

Drinks are on the house tonight, men.

And General McOmish's drinks are always free here.

Cheers!

Drink up boys!

It is now required that whenever Gen McOmish enters the tavern everyone must shout "Cam!" in unison.

When I think alcohol I think... Brad Paisley. For y'all non-southerners out there, welcome to country music

Gents I have dragged my sorry carcass into the bar, I have been under the weather for a few weeks - not due to excessive drinking unfortunately. Well it is great that the new place has been modelled on the Vicksburg Tavern, a well stocked bar surrounded by sawdust, dead and wounded unionists, pre smashed chairs and tables. Barkeep make mine are large anything that is 50% proof. Gent I raise my glass to the new tavern and all those present. Cheers. Now as a treat I shall get my banjo and play a few power cords, my own punkgrass version of the Foggy Mountain Breakdown. On a more serious note, I am most humbled by the gesture of naming a tavern after me < Salute >

<SALUTE>
Honors to the Good General

A small Blessing, I'm sure the General will enjoy

Bless the four corners of this Inn
And be the lintel blest,
And bless the hearth and bless the board
And bless each place to rest,
And bless each door that opens wide
To stranger as to kin,
And bless each crystal window pane
That lets the starlight in.
An bless the rooftree overhead,
And evers sturdy wall

And Bless Our Cause

Gen Strickler......really Brad Paisley equates to Country/Western....

you must not ever listen to Tennessee Ernie Ford, Marty Robbins, Jim Reeves

Still smells of moustache wax and whiskey in here, maybe even a bit more cozy. The new paint on the sign is nice, fitting. Proud to call this tavern home and happy its named in honor of one of our living legends!
