To all the old BG downloads?

With the loss of access to ACWGC.org the old ACWGC Cartography website http://acwgc.org/acwco/ was lost. The site was maintained by David Kerns and Larry Quick. I was responsible for the ACWCO Engineering webpages and once my access to ACWGC.org was cancelled I copied the files there to a new site http://home.comcast.net/~acwco_engineering/ that contains my webpages covering the HPS ACW game system. Unfortunately I did not have copies of the complete ACWCO site files so I could not reproduce it.

Many of the BG scenario files are available at Game Squad Forums http://forums.gamesquad.com/downloads.php?do=cat&id=5 you have to register to gain access. I also have a number of the BG scenario downloads from the ACWCO on back up cd's so if you can't find what you are looking for drop me a line and if I have it I'll send it to you but as I said I do not have all of those files.

Perhaps one day I will have time to add the downloads I have to my Engineering site but right now real life precludes my doing so.

Thanks Ken. A true shame that some are probably lost forever....

I might have some stored away on a CDROM.

I was advised by Rich Hamilton to secure all BG (Napoleonic and Civil War) files from GS. They've been availabe in the downloads section of SDC for awhile (but - and this is a big but, the software I use adds in characters for spaces- so it is entirely possible that I have to go in and edit all of the names to add say '_' where there are spaces in order to have files work.

Don't take that to mean that the links are broken, as I haven't had time to test all them (nor do I expect to have that time any time soon). It isn't the most exciting thing in the world to spend time on, frankly. :) (Sometimes they work, and for whatever reason, sometimes they don't). I also haven't added in the descriptions (which either have to be copied and pasted (I've got a massive text file with all the pertinent info), or typed in manually - see above about the dryness.

Anyway, no in fact they aren't lost - they are secured, and secured against even GS going away. The deal was, is that those files were ones that Rich Hamilton had had stored originally, on SDC -so while Rich can speak for himself, my take on it was that he wanted to retrieve those for the site.

You don't need to register at SDC to get downloaded material. And I have had, what I think is a bot trying to grab a particular file; but if I'm wrong about that -please, by all means, drop me a line and I will get things sorted out.

Thanks Steve for the info. Good to know. I'll try to give the SDC stuff a try and tinker around with the file names.

I know it doesn't matter much to those who are outside of the Clubs, but it is still something that is an extra bonus for the genre at large.....

Scott:

If you run into any problems -please lmk ... -as I do have to get on that part sooner or later. I noticed one recurring error, but when it looked like it was a bot or crawler trying for something -I decided to ignore it for awhile, but I am always interested if actual users are having issues.

Mr. Bassotti:

I am very interested in Mansfield as I had an ancestor fight in that battle. If you would not mind I would appreciate any information on how to access a scenario on the Battle of Mansfield.

All, it looks like the link Ken Miller referenced in an earlier post is functioning.

The old BG Mods appear to be here.

Officers of both sides
I would like to update and make a revision of my old add-on battles.
Are there volunteers to make some play-test games?
Let me know!
