Pierre, '
I used to play this all the time. Lost my copy of it somewhere along the way. Is there still a free version out there? If so where? I didn't see it at the Matrix site. Of course I may be going blind.

It is harder to find now. I guess they want to promote their mega packs. You can download 8.2 and the upgrade to 8.4 at the site listed by dalelast. Also there is an enhanced version that I am currenlty playing with that addresses some issues and is a lot different to play. Meaning that FOW, infantry and tanks results are different. It's fun.

If somebody has an hour or 2 I would love to try a tcp/ip games.

I have downloaded the game. You have to download v8.2, 8.3 and 8.4, as the upgrades are not cumulative. It is about 450 Mb download.

I have not loaded it up, yet, but plan to after I get back from vacation.

Maybe sometime around the 1st week of October would work. I liked playing SP in the original.

TCP/IP would be fun and we are in the same time zone, so tht works well.

Ernie,

Great news, install the enhanced pack as well, you need to run the modswap.exe in the game Matrix folder to install it. Took me awhile to figure that out.

I will look forward to a game in October.

Ernie,

The enhanced URL is www.spwaw.com/

Name is

SPWAW_Enhanced_FV.spm (59 MB)

The modswap.exe should be in the installed folder 'Steel Panthers World at war'. It comes with the installation.

Let me know if you need more info.
