When the boards were first installed, they used to be one, with a single database. Members had a single signature for all their club identities because it would show on all the boards the same way. And posts were counted for the entire board, not the subforums.

When the forums were separated, the number of posts done by any individual member on all boards combined before that date was transferred to the several single user profiles created afterwards. Then the separate count started from that figure.

In other words, everyone who was around before the boards were separated and was a member of all the clubs and a regular poster now has his total for *all* his identities up to that time included in *each* of his separate totals on the individual boards now in existence.

That's why people like Gary, Rich, Bill, you and I have such enormous post totals on each board. [:)]

(Just to illustrate that with a simple example. Say you do 100 posts a year in each of three clubs that you are in, and you did that for one year before the separation of the boards and then for another afterwards. You would have accumulated 300 posts in the common database, which would have transferred 1:1 to each of the individual member lists, giving you 300+100=400 for *each* club board over both years, for a total of 400x3=1200, when in reality you had only done 200x3=600.)

Well, DS, that takes a bit of the shine off. I've always wondered how one can have 2000+ things to say in EACH of several Clubs![:D]

Never knew that tidbit...Still impressive totals!
