Post subject: Inauguration of President David Mallory

Fellow Members,

Congratulations are in order to David Mallory on his appointment as the new ACWGC President effective today, Nov. 1, 2006. David has proven his dedication and commitment to the ACWGC over and over and I look forward to a successful Presidency. I wish him the best.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank all those that have supported me over the years and to those that have contributed to make this the best club on the net. It has been a hoot. I would like to thank those that organized and participated in the Grand review this past summer. A special thanks to Notso for coming up with the idea and the CoA’s for moving it forward. It will be something that I will always fondly remember. I will continue to participate in the club as a member and continue to provide support for various club web pages.

Let's take this day to celebrate the inauguration of President Mallory and to celebrate the success of this club. Let the festivities begin.

Long Live the ACWGC

Best Regards,

General Pierre D.

My sincerest thanks to Pierre for his many years of tireless work for the Club!

Congrats also to David, and thanks for his continued willingness to serve! He has big shoes to fill, but I think he'll do nicely at filling them!

Huzzah to you both, sirs!

Gentlemen! <salute>

Gosh, it's been two year since I signed up to get some training in the ACWGC. I was looking for some other opponents to meet as my regular gaming buddy (Col Ken Schneider, AoT) seemed to be always kicking my behind!

My point is, because of the tireless efforts of our outgoing President, Pierre Desruisseaux, this wonderful gaming Club came into existence! I am so grateful that I have a place to go to share not only ACW gaming but be among folks who love to eat and sleep the American Civil War history! Many thanks Pierre!

For the past 13 months that I have been Commandant at VMI I have had the privilege of getting to know and interact with David Mallory! Though he will be sorely missed as the CoA for the Rebel side of the Club, David Mallory will make a great Club President for many years to come!

Respectfully,

Gentlemen,

I see I already owe a drink to General Kunz! [:D]

While the bartender is bringing the good stuff up from the cellar, let's get this show started.

For the festivites, I am thrilled to introduce to you, performing for the first time on any stage (and probably the last): The Foggy Bottom Riverboat Band!

Actually, the band is so new I don't even know all of them, so I'll let them introduce themselves.

I'm on the harmonica -- what (musical!) instrument are YOU playing? I'm sure I hear a banjo and a fiddle, but who is playing them, and what other instruments do we have?

Your humble servant,
Gen 'Dee Dubya' Mallory
