My wife says that I am free to go on the 28th. She is concerned that I am meeting a Moose with a "Quickie". I reminded her that at my age, nothing is quick. I will be there on the 28th. Let me know where to find the bivouac area. Jim Gleason LG 4-2-I AoP |

If July 28th is selected, I'll be driving up for the day and would recommend meeting at the Visitor Center at about 9:30 AM. That should make it fairly easy for those spending the weekend and those driving up for the day. Col. My Dear Lt. Col. Larry Quick You have picked "bad ground" for headquarters. Be sure to strengthen your pickett line before retiring for the night or you will be surprized as to "whom" you may find in your bed upon awakening the next morning. However, as loud as you snore would scare off several divisions of Yanks so perhaps your lines will remain safe and secure. As for me, I'll most likely remain at my own headquarters and meet up with what is left of your command Saturday Morning......However, expected news from Richmond may prove different for the both of us...... best regards, Brig.Gen. R.E.Daley 1st Corps of the ANV 3rd Calvary Divsion, 3rd Brigade "We are the Midnight Riders" |

General Moose, I have made reservations at the Hagerstown Comfort Inn for July 27, 28th, so there will definitely be Union forces in the neighborhood, (that is if I persuade Gen'l McClelland to make a stand at Antietam!) regards, Lt. Col. John Fogarty 2nd Brigade, 'Carlin's Cavaliers' 1st Division, XX Corps Army of the Cumberland Lt. John Fogarty 2nd Brigade "Carlin's Cavaliers" First Division XX Corps Army of the Cumberland |
