Can't be sure this hasn't already been discussed or happened to someone, but I thought it interesting.
I had a cavalry unit which captured some Confederate Cannon (yes I was playing as the wrong side), in a great heroic charge. Unfortunately they were to be taught a lesson by the in this case CSA commander, who surrounded me with Guns and infantry. As I sat on captured guns, my troops were meleed--surrounded on all 6 hexsides (I don't beleive I was officially Issolated, but I don't remember--my cavlary was mounted, this I do remember). But they didn't rout, and rather than surrender as I would expect from the melee, instead they retreated into a hex only occupied by enemy guns. Capturing them in the process. Can't say I think this an impossible outcome, and can envision such. But I have to say I didn't expect it.

Comments?
