 Post subject: Dumb Question

I have played Tiller's Civil War games before but have forgotten one important thing.

What are the rules I choose to have PHASED play and still have the computer perform the defensive fire?

Compliments of Gen Walter as is captured in the Link Express:

MDF On plus ADF On: Game plays in four phases per turn, the AI conducts the Defensive Fire Phase for the non-phasing player. Two file exchanges per turn.

I play in this manner frequently . . . To dispell any qualms, it <u><b>does not</b></u> mean there is any extra file-exchanging necessary.
