I am trying to play a scenario with this Yank and we both are running into the same problem.....We both receive the same message on the first turn depending on who starts it.....The other person gets the can not select unit under remote control.....or a black screen with one icon in the upper left.....We are both on the same update....He play other games in Gettysburg and so do I......Does anyone have a solution....He has a game that I would like to play...

Both of you need to delete the PBEMail.xxx and pbemail.YYY files, then try the scenario.

If a Campaign game, delete the campaign.xxx and campaign.yyy for BOTH players.

John,
I have a batch file on my start menu that I run before I play the games to delete the .xxx and .yyy files. It's basically just a text file with the file extension changed from '.txt' to '.bat'.

As you can see below it just points to the folder where my HPS games are installed:

cd c:\games\HPS Simulations\
del /s *.yyy
del /s *.xxx

I have another one which scans all my games and I use this if I am playing the old Talonsoft games:

cd c:\games\
del /s *.yyy
del /s *.xxx

I've suffered less problems with the games since running these files regularly.
