And as for Marines and Navy. According to the Marines I have met, they agree they are a Dept of the Navy....but they are the Men's Dept.

As far as us Army are concerned, Marines are just Sailors with little guns or Sailors are Marines with big guns. In the end, does it really matter?

I did three years US Army. I was a FO (Forward Observor). 90-93. Served in the 1st Armored Division, 2nd Armored Division, 3rd Armored Division, 5th Infantry Division, and Third Cavalry Division. I was asked to be a DI, but turned it down to go to college. I was on the color guard for the 5 Infantry Division as well - I did not chose it - my battalion SM chose for me.

Kerry,

Half and half can cause psychological damage, the only remedy is RUM, which is a bit like the force in Star Wars, it will bring you back from the dark side - back to the Navy

Since yesterday was the Marine Corps birthday, Happy 235th. Since the Army, Navy and Marines are the oldest military groups in the U.S Salute. I served 24 yrs as a Navy Seabee only 68 yrs old will be 69 yrs on March 5th, 2011. Go John Wayne "DUKE" for his role in the Fightin Seabees. In fact John Wayne served in all of the branches except the Coast Guard "Shallow Water Navy" :D

General McOmish <salute>

You are probably correct. A 50 year-old with a bad back might be just what they're looking for to raise the standards
