Does anyone remember a proto-campaign run in the club around the year 2000 or so? This was well before anyone had the HPS Campaign civil war games (I think 1812 and French and Indian ones were out though). I cannot remember the name of the officer who ran the campaign, though I remember he played both Jeff Davis and Abe Lincoln for either side. I was hoping to find whatever records I could for it (there used to be a homepage, probably gone now) as it was a very enjoyable campaign played with (I think) close to 10 officers on either side, again, sort of pointless given the game engines we have now, but for nostalgia's sake.
cheers!

Sir,
Were you in the AoC back in those days? I recognise the name. Here's the AoC OOB back in 2000: http://homepage.ntlworld.com/a.r.barlow ... r_2000.htm

Sir,
I am indeed the same officer, after a lengthy (too long I think) absence from the club, I've returned! (albeit in this somewhat tattered and dusty butternut uniform) Its good to see that old page again! I recall at least some of those names, and some of those names are still kickin around these halls!

If you're talking about the 1862 Campaign run by the DOSC in 2000 I was a relatively new club member then and was one of the union officers, I was Gen Keyes and commanded 4th Corps and got it chewed up by Gen Pierre and another officer who's name escapes me. I still have the OOB and the campaign map. Man that was a long time and a lot of games ago.

Ken,
thats correct, that same campaign. that was a long time ago, although i recall that campaign to be good one; we had so many troops and so many opportunities to really do so many things at the same time (a'la Grant in 1864, but earlier) I was the ranking US officer in that campaign and had a ball with regards to role-playing the part with both subordinates and the gentleman who ran the game as President Lincoln (whos name regrettably escapes me at the moment.) I recall the IV Corps fight you refer to, at Fredericksburg. Good times
