Col. Peters,

I don't remember a club-wide tourny since T2K (How many of you guys remember "Tennessee River 2000" [:)] ?).

There seem to always be smaller tournaments (Corps v. Corps, Army v. Army, VMI v. whatever-it-is-the-Yanks-are-calling-their-training-academy-these-days, etc.) going on. The main trouble I've heard with club-wide tournaments, from those who actually have organized smaller tournaments, is the logistics involved with anything that large. I know I ran an intra-corps tournament, back when I was in command of the I Corps, AotM, and was nearly swamped by the third round with just that little bit.

On the other hand, there are apt to be plenty of members willing to participate, so anyone is interested in putting one together only has to pass the word up his chain of command ...

The AoC and AoG are involved in an excellent tournament at the moment, thanks to the efforts of Rob Harney and Dirk Gross.

I concur with What Gen Mallory said about the logistics of organizing them. I found that the tournament I helped organize between the AoC and AoG a couple of years ago was about as big as I could manage comfortably. Chasing up people who don't finish their games takes time too and can delay the result beyond the time when it is still current and interesting to everyone. But with a good team of people with a good solid idea for a tournament I guess anything is possible....

Actually Gen Mallory I believe you missed a couple of club wide tourneys. Besides the T2K2 Tourney I took part in the Death of a General Tourney, the Great Shoot Out in 2001 and the 2002 and 2003 Spring Tourneys. I believe that the 2003 Spring Tourney was the last club wide tourney making it 5 years since we had one.

Gentlemen!

Hello, am I missing something here or what? Harold Lajoie has set up and ran the 1st HACW Tournament and then 1 year ago started the 2nd HACW Tournament. As far as I know this is a Club wide tournament to see which side will prevail, it was the Yankees the first time around and the Rebel are trying mightly hard to take it this time. I figure that the tournament will last at least another year.

So Gents, if you haven't gotten on board yet then you had better check it out. There are most excellent Medals and Ribbons to be earned thru your participation. All of the info is listed at the ACWGC Opponent Finder!

General Kunz,

Can anyone say SENIOR MOMENT[:D]. You are right about Col. Lajoie having ran the first HAWC and is running the second one now. I competed in the first and involved with the second one. Right now they are around the year of 1862 or 63 with scn. to do with Vicksburg. But he does use some custom built one also.

Respectfully,
Lt. Gen. Gery Bastiani

Gen. Miller,

You are so right -- I believe I participated in a couple of those, as well. T2K just had the easiest name for me to remember!
