Fellow Officers,

The Cabinet has approved a rule change to include another sanctioned club game, Gary Grigsby's "War Between the States". Following is the specific wording of the rule change:

1.1. American Civil War Game Club (hereinafter referred to as ‘the ACWGC’ or simply ‘the Club’) has been formed to play American Civil War computer games. These games are currently the Talonsoft/Matrix Games and HPS Simulations American Civil War games designed by John Tiller, as well as the game Forge of Freedom (FoF), by Matrix Games, and American Civil War: The Blue & the Gray (AACW), by AGEod, and Gary Grigsby's War Between the States. A friendly gaming and social atmosphere is the standard for all and we welcome players of all experience levels.

Before calling for a club-wide vote, we want to open the floor for public comments on this change.

Please post your thoughts here.

Your humble servant,
Gen 'Dee Dubya' Mallory

Sounds good, though you may wish to add something to the effect that "further ACW games may be added at the cabinet's discretion" or the like, to indicate that when new games come out, they'll be considered [:D]

No problem with supporting additional games as long as they are ACW. I may not buy or play them myself but see no reason not to include them in the sanctioned games list.

1 - It'll be too difficult to set up club wide tournaments with such a variation of games available.
2 - It really puts the pressure on our Training Academies to have instructors available for such a variable number of games.
3 - We have a hard enough time now trying to work out games among each other due to all of the options available in the current club games.
4 - We'll almost need a forum for each set of games.
5 - The name of the game is too long.

There - now the dissenting opinion is out of the way. I ordered mine two weeks ago and am still waiting on it to arrive. I'll be voting to approve the resolution.

General Simms's comment concerning the extra burden placed upon the instructors at the Training Academies may warrant some additional thought. I would assume that those who have been instructors and those who now serve now in such capacity would have the best insights regarding it.

I'm an instructor at the Union Military Academy and already own the game. I've also volunteered to do any training for Rebel recruits who only have this game until someone on the Rebel side gets it.

Based on the AAR's, I had to order this one, so I'm learning and will look forward to the opportunity of completing a Club game in the future![:D]
