American Civil War Game Club (ACWGC)

Gentlemen,

Last year I was asked if I would be willing to put together a website for the club that would provide a place for members to learn about the HPS game files. Unfortunately other commitments have prevented me from getting as much done as I wanted to, I had hoped to have it up and running before now. However rather than continue to delay it's release I have decided to make available what I have already finished and will continue working on it as time and my schedule permits. With the current confusion over the future of the ACWCO site I have elected to host the site myself until that is resolved. You'll find the site at

It contains all the information I have collected over the years on the HPS ACW games OOB and PDT files as well as an introduction to using the Scenario Editor. As I said more work is planned, sections on maps and graphics were part of the original design but when they will be completed I can't say at this time.

Absolutely great stuff, Ken! For those of us who like to explore the inner workings of the game, this is the place to go. It ought to be considered as part of the recommended, post-graduate training regime for each military academy. Frankly what you've done here is raised the available level of game mechanics knowledge far above the norm and opened the door to some serious investigation. And you've managed to expertly present everything in a striking webpage design, one which aptly captures the flavor of the subject. It is extremely well done!
