I doubt the video card or driver is affecting mine. I've used both the ATI HD 3870 and now the HD 4850, so I'm current latest tech. I've updated drivers monthly too. Again, for me the problem is only intermittent and not bothersome.

I've dropped HPS a note referencing this thread. Even a daft ol' Reb can see there's some sort of issue here.

Played around with the game settings and found out that if you turn off the on map reports the whiteout problem goes away. Not a fix, obviously , but better than nothing. Still have the disappearing dialogue boxes and drop down menus, however.

Here's an update on this problem. I just found that there is a new version of the Microsoft Intellipoint drivers - version 6.3. So I installed it and the problem with menus disappearing seems to have gone. But the white screen during defensive fire was still there. I read somewhere that some problems are caused by the wheel button being assigned to 'Instant Viewer'. I think with this feature active it takes snapshots all the time and this can interfere with your programs. So I re-assigned that button to something else and so far I haven't had the white screen after playing a couple of turns of games in the ACW and PzC series. Hopefully the problems are gone...

Thanks, Antony! That did the trick. Now I can watch and play my games without all the annoying white-outs, invisible menus, etc [:)]

Thanks for the heads up.
