I have just won the Chickauamga campaign by getting a major victory at Perryville. Hurrah for me, the war is over. Unfortunately I was looking forward to playing the Chickamauga campaign. I kinda hoped I might get to the Battle of Murfreeboro or maybe even the Battle of Chickamauga since the game is of that name. Now for me to get to these fights I must replay Perryville and intentionally not win a major victory.

I think that perhaps campaigns should be a series of battles regardless of the outcome. Has anyone else suffered this result and is it something that may be correct with an update or something?

I have played in 5 or 6 Gettysburg Campaigns and only 1 has gotten to Gettysburg. Most end in the second sceranrio, one of the lengthy Valley scenario where it is next to impossible to not engage in a major battle with a lot of carnage on both sides.

I would like to move on to Gettysburg a little more often.

Strange as I won a Major Victory as the union at Perryville and we moved on to Murfreesboro. In fact I just looked at the various campaigns with the editor and the only way any of them end at Perryville is if the rebs win a major victory .

Not so strange when you think about the implications of a Rebel major victory at Perryville. That would have been enough to drive the Union out of Central Tennessee and Central Kentucky and might have gotten Kentucky to join the CSA, or at least garnered a lot more support. Gotta think that would have been a war changing event.

I learned to check the campaign editor before each scenario. If I see that a major victory for my side would end the campaign, then I'll go for the major victory in order to cripple my opponent in future scenarios but offer a termination bid for a minor victory in order to keep the campaign going. If my opponent wanted to toss in the towel for the whole campaign, then he could decline it and offer me a major victory instead.

I have never opened a scenario editor and would not know what I was looking for to see the "Campaign Tree" or whatever.

I can understand the "why" the campaign ends...it would likely move into Ohio. But as this is a game perhaps a scenario could follow a Reb victory at Perryville with a subsequent Federal offensive or something. It just seems a shame to play a campaign and have it end after one fight. My opponent and I have started back up with the "Battles for Kentucky and Tennessee" and so we are back....to Perryville!!!

Actually it depends on which one of the campaigns that include Kentucky you choose and of course which side you are getting the major victory. I got a CSA Major Victory at Perryville and the next game was Frankfort. Won that one and now we are battling for Nashville.
