For the Napleonic games it is possible to download alternative pictures for the units(units.bmp) http://www.nwc.albom55.ru/NWC_2300_e.shtml

Is there something similar for the ACW games ?

Marco,
On the front page check out the links section. Take a look at Ken Millers Corinth site. He has unit bmp's for most of the games. And for a fix for 3D terrain and units check out Rolf Halls graphics.
